Rules & Regulations
In most cinemas around the country, the rated-R policy is required to be the same within each one. The Classification and Rating Administration (CARA) explain why they enforce that you MUST be 17 or older, with ID present, or if you’re under the age of 17 you MUST be accompanied by an adult or guardian over the age of 21 to be able to view a rated-R showing.

Mr. Wade Meyers, Personal Interview
Meyers says,”The movie ratings are necessary and should require parental consent when viewing a rated-R film.” Mr. Meyers was questioned: What do you think is a mature age to watch R-rated films? He responded with "The current age at 17 or even 18." Following his response i asked why he felt that way. He stated that, "It just depends on the content or the 'who' and 'what' of the situation." Meyers also disagrees with the language and sexual content shown in these films.
Lisa Linn, Personal Interview
In an interview with Mrs. Lisa Linn, mother of two, she was asked how she felt about the current rated-R policy. Linn replied, "The standing policy is acceptable. Young adults should be protected form intense language and some sexual situations." At a premature age some teens can be exposed to bad ideas that could lead to big problems. Lisa was then asked why she thought that teens under the regulation age of seventeen, should be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the theater. She responded, "Parents need to be with their child so that they may explain any specific situations when they arrive home, and then determine whether or not it was appropriate."
